## Abstract

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is approving a request submitted by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) on February 6, 2018, to revise the Illinois State Implementation Plan (SIP) under the Clean Air Act (CAA) for the 2010 1-hour sulfur dioxide (SO<INF>2</INF>) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). IEPA specifically requested EPA approval to amend the Illinois SIP for the 2010 1-hour SO<INF>2</INF> NAAQS to account for two variances granted by the Illinois Pollution Control Board (IPCB) to Calpine Corporation (Calpine) and Exelon Generation, LLC (Exelon). EPA proposed to approve the state's submittal on June 12, 2019.
