## Abstract

In this action EPA is approving the State Implementation Plan (SIP) submitted by the State of Illinois through the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) on June 2, 1995, and January 9, 1996, for the purpose of redesignating the portion of LaSalle County currently designated as nonattainment to attainment status for the particulate matter National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The EPA is also approving the maintenance plan for the LaSalle County PM nonattainment area, which was submitted with the redesignation request to ensure that attainment will be maintained.
