## Abstract

EPA is approving revisions to the Mississippi State Implementation Plan (SIP) submitted on June 14, 1991, and January 26, 1994, by the State of Mississippi through the Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). These SIP revisions incorporate changes to Regulation APC-S-1 ``Air Emission Regulations for the Prevention, Abatement, and Control of Air Contaminants''. The proposed revisions specify prohibited open burning practices and set conditions for which open burning practices may occur. These SIP revisions change the open burning restriction policy to be more consistent with federal regulations as specified in 40 CFR parts 257 and 258.
