## Abstract

This rule establishes a temporary/time-limited tolerance exemption for residues of the biological pesticide Harpin in or on all food commodities when applied for the broad spectrum control of various bacterial, fungal, and viral plant diseases. EDEN Bioscience Corporation submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 (FQPA) (Pub. L. 104-170) requesting the temporary/time-limited tolerance exemption. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of Harpin. The tolerance exemption will expire on October 31, 2000.
