## Abstract

This regulation establishes time-limited tolerances for combined residues of glufosinate ammonium (butanoic acid, 2-amino-4- (hydroxymethylphosphinyl)-monoammonium salt and its metabolite, 3- methylphosphinico-propionic acid in or on sweet corn (kernels and cob with husk removed), sweet corn forage, sweet corn stover, canola meal and canola seed. This action is in response to EPA's granting of emergency exemptions under section 18 of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act authorizing use of the pesticide on sweet corn and canola. This regulation establishes a maximum permissible level for residues of glufosinate ammonium in these food commodities pursuant to section 408(l)(6) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996. These tolerances will expire and are revoked on December 1, 1999.
