## Abstract

This regulation establishes a temporary exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the biochemical pesticide 2,6-diisopropylnapthalene (2,6-DIPN) when applied/used to inhibit sprouting in potatoes held in storage. Platte Chemical Company submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 requesting the temporary tolerance exemption. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of 2,6-DIPN. The temporary tolerance exemption will expire on September 22, 2000.
