## Abstract

This document amends the Commission's rules to require that new broadcast television receiving equipment include the capability to receive digital television (DTV) signals and to reference the most recent version of the Advanced Television System Committee's (ATSC) DTV standard. It also refrains at this time from adopting labeling requirements for TV receivers that are not able to receive over-the-air digital broadcast signals and denies a petition for reconsideration requesting that the Commission consider imposing minimum performance thresholds for DTV receivers if manufacturers do not promptly implement performance standards on their own.
