## Abstract

By adopting this Order, the Commission implements the self- effectuating additions and revisions made by Section 703 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 to Section 224 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended. The pole attachment provisions of Section 224 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, initially only applied to cable television system operators. However, Section 703 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 expanded the scope of the pole attachment provisions under Section 224 to include telecommunications carriers as well as cable television system operators.
