## Abstract

The Commission is hereby adopting rules that eliminate the regulatory distinctions between U.S.-licensed domestic satellites and separate international satellite systems, resulting in uniform treatment of all U.S.-licensed geostationary fixed-satellites. Our action is in response to comments received in response to our Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in this proceeding. Permitting U.S. operators to provide the widest range of service offerings technically feasible will allow them to use their satellites more efficiently and to provide innovative and customer-tailored services.
