## Abstract

This Order implements sections of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. The Order eliminates restrictions on the cross ownership of broadcast networks and cable television systems, allows cross ownership and operation of multichannel multipoint distribution services or Satellite Master Antenna Television systems and cable systems when effective competition exists in the franchise area, and eliminates the three-year holding period requirement for transfer of cable systems.
