Abstract
The Second Report and Order (Order) released August 18, 1997 adopts, with minor modifications the recommendations of the North American Numbering Council relating to local number portability administration. The requirements, standards and procedures adopted in this Order are needed to give the telecommunications industry clear guidelines as to how to implement long-term local number portability.
