## Abstract

The Federal Communications Commission issues a correction to the previously published final rule in 62 FR 47371, September 9, 1997, concerning the connection of terminal equipment to the telephone network. The rule allows certain terminal equipment presently connected to central-office-implemented payphones to remain connected without registration. This correction is issued to clarify that the rule applies to the ``central-office-implemented telephone line'' rather than the ``central-office-implemented telephone.'' The correction is intended clarify the distinction between terminal equipment and a central-office-implemented telephone line.
