Abstract

The Commission adopts a Third Report and Order and Fifth Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in this proceeding. The Fifth Notice of Proposed Rulemaking portion of this decision is summarized elsewhere in this issue of the Federal Register. The Third Report and Order adopts rules to govern the future operation and licensing of the 220-222 MHz band. This action is taken as part of the Commission's continuing implementation of the regulatory framework for mobile radio services enacted by Congress in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993. This Third Report and Order also contains proposed and/or modified information collections subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA). These will be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review under the PRA. The general public and other Federal agencies are invited to comment on the proposed or modified information collections contained in this proceeding.
