Uniform Cable Price-Setting Methodology

The Report and Order modifies rules and policies concerning cable systems. The Report and Order amends our regulations to permit the establishment by a cable operator of uniform rates for uniform services offered across multiple franchise areas on a case-by-case basis upon the Commission's finding that the cable operator's submission of a proposed uniform rate proposal and supporting justification demonstrates that the proposed rate structure is reasonable. This item fulfills Congress' preference that rates be set pursuant to competition rather than regulation.
