Examination of Current Policy Concerning the Treatment of Confidential Information Submitted to the Commission

The Commission amends its rules to set out more clearly what should be contained in a request that information not be routinely available for public disclosure, provide that audit information and programming contracts will be presumed to be exempt from routine public disclosure, codify its practice of sometimes deferring action on a request for confidentiality until a request for inspection is made, and otherwise clarify its rules, delete obsolete references, and renumber the rules. The Commission also adopts a Model Protective Order (MPO) for general use.
