Fisheries of the Exclusive Economic Zone Off Alaska; Rebuilding Overfished Fisheries

NMFS announces the approval of Amendment 14 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands King and Tanner Crabs (FMP). This amendment contains a rebuilding plan for the overfished stock of Bering Sea snow crab. This action is necessary to ensure that conservation and management measures continue to be based upon the best scientific information available. It is intended to enhance the Council's ability to achieve, on a continuing basis, optimum yield from fisheries under its authority.
