Abstract
NMFS issues interim 1996 total allowable catch (TAC) amounts for each category of groundfish, pollock Community Development Quota (CDQ) amounts, and specifications for prohibited species bycatch allowances for the groundfish fishery of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area (BSAI). NMFS is closing certain fisheries as specified in the interim 1996 groundfish specifications. The intended effect is to conserve and manage the groundfish resources in the BSAI.
