The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is amending the regulations governing the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS or Sanctuary) to prohibit the attraction of white sharks in the nearshore areas of the Sanctuary. The prohibition is intended to ensure that Sanctuary resources and qualities are not adversely impacted and to avoid conflicts among various users of the Sanctuary.
