## Abstract

NMFS is prohibiting directed fishing for ``other rockfish'' in the Eastern Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA). This action is necessary to prevent exceeding the 1998 total allowable catch (TAC) of ``other rockfish'' in this area.
