# International Workshop on Advances in Electrocorticography

> **NIH NIH R13** · MAYO CLINIC JACKSONVILLE · 2020 · $13,000

## Abstract

Project Summary/Abstract
The objective of this workshop is to bring together engineers, scientists and clinicians involved in ECoG/SEEG
research; to educate them about ECoG/SEEG physiology; to help them formulate important scientific and clinical
questions for ECoG/SEEG research; to facilitate interactions and collaborations among them; and to summarize
advances in ECoG/SEEG research in an annual proceedings article. The program has been designed to engage
scientists, engineers, and clinicians who wish to use ECoG/SEEG recording and stimulation techniques to study
the neural mechanisms underlying uniquely human mental abilities for which adequate animal models do not
exist. This format follows our extremely successful series of 14 workshops held since 2008. These workshops
have each been able to accommodate up to 120 participants. To date, the results of these workshops have been
reported in seven highly visible proceedings articles that were published by Epilepsy and Behavior.
