Discipline D (Special Projects): Track 3 Method Development and Method Validation 
Purpose: 
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) State Public Health Laboratory 
(MSPHL) seeks FDA cooperative agreement funding opportunity to enhance food testing 
capabilities through the multi-laboratory validation of QPCR screening method for Salmonella in 
Foods. 
The goals and outcomes of this cooperative agreement include the following: 
 1. The MSPHL will participate in FDA led multi-laboratory validation. 
 2. The validation will follow FDA guidelines for Validation of Analytical Methods. 
 3. This validation will enhance MSPHL’s capability of screening for Salmonella in foods.
