The Genomics Shared Resource (GSR) provides a broad spectrum of services and resources designed to make the state-of-the-art techniques used in DNA sequence and transcript analysis readily available to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC) laboratory and clinical research communities. The research- based services and resources of the GSR include: 1) DNA sequencing, including whole exome sequencing, 2) custom oligonucleotides, 3) DNA microarrays (Illumina BeadArray system), 4) real-time PCR, 5) molecular biology computing, and 6) genome, mRNA and single cell sequencing using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies. The GSR also provides access to state-of-the-art informatics including bioinformatics software and tools, public/local data and databases and computing and machine-learning/artificial intelligence capabilities. Molecular biology computing personnel work closely with investigators early in the process to improve study design and assure generation of high-quality data that meets the needs of the investigators. GSR also continues to evaluate and update services to remain cutting-edge and provide new services needed and serves HCCC investigators from each of the HCCC programs.
