PROJECT SUMMARY / ABSTRACT 
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) Laboratory Services Division (LSD) is seeking funding under 
FDA funding opportunity PAR-20-105, “Laboratory Flexible Funding Model (U19)”. This summary is for the 
Chemistry Discipline Analytical Track 1: Food Defense. 
The purpose of this track is to ensure laboratory surge capacity for the analysis of foods and food products 
related to chemical contamination, through intentional means. As part of this analytical track the MDA 
laboratory commits to analyzing at least 75 food samples for food defense agents.
