## Abstract

Chemistry B Track 4 Project Summary: 
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Food, Fuel, and Disease section 
plans to develop the capability to analyze human and/or animal food for multiple allergens. The section 
has contacted a vendor for the procurement of the MagPix System with XPonent 4.2, a programmable 
shaker, u- bottom block, flat bottom assay plate, and cover blocks. The section is looking into the 
necessary training for the analyst(s) that will be performing the setup, and process. Work to secure 
training for personnel on the xMAP Food Allergen Detection Assay (xMAP FADA). The section intends to 
perform the necessary validation of the method. Prior to service samples being run the analysis shall 
demonstrate competency through a proficiency test offered by a suitable proficiency testing program.
