Abstract

Discipline D Track 1: Sample Collection Project Summary Funding from this project supports the processing of samples collected for analysis of the Animal Feed Product Testing track. The CAHFS Toxicology Section is finalizing an agreement with the State of California feed control regulators within the Commercial Feed Regulatory Program (CDFA-CFRP) to collect 100 dairy cattle feed samples for our use in our proposed FERN project (Discipline B, Chemistry Track 3, Animal Feed Product Testing). According to existing procedures within the regulatory agency, these samples will be sent to the UC Davis College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences’ Analytical Laboratory for processing (grinding), and then forwarded to the California Animal Health & Food Safety Lab’s Toxicology section for analysis. The cost of processing these 100 samples will be passed on to CAHFS.
