Abstract

Chemistry Track 1 – Food Defense Narrative The Arizona Department of Health Services Laboratory (ASPHL) Chemistry program will continue to engage in food defense chemistry analysis by maintaining competency in FDA Food Emergency Response Network (FERN) analytical methods on the instrument platforms LC/MS, GC/MS, and ICP-MS under the accreditation scope of ISO 17025. ASPHL Chemistry has served as a FDA FERN cCAP grantee Laboratory for 15 years and specializes in both developing new technology that furthers the capacity and analytical reach of the FERN community and in maintaining a state of readiness to assist Federal and State partners in the analysis of potential food adulterations of chemical poisons and toxins.
