## Abstract

UMCCTS Informatics has advanced clinical and translational research and workforce development by providing
access to biomedical data and user-friendly informatics tools. In close collaboration with other UMCCTS
Cores and UMass computer science departments, we have developed and implemented informatics tools and
processes to manage research operations and to securely collect, extract (from EHR and other sources),
share, analyze, and store data. With a strong foundation in data and systems, we are now poised to expand
data driven research and care in the next funding cycle, through the following Specific Aims: (1) Expand access
to data and analytics to support high-impact research; (2) Develop and promote full utilization of a robust,
secure, and easy-to-use research informatics framework that fully integrates with EHR; and (3) Advance innovative
informatics approaches and lead the development of a data- and informatics-savvy workforce.
