## Abstract

Project Summary/Abstract
This represents one year of co-funding of the Health and Retirement Study by the Social
Security Administration via Jointly Financed Cooperative Arrangement (JFCA) agreement with
the National Institute on Aging.
The purposes of this JFCA are to provide support for:
 • Core activities of the NIA-sponsored Health and Retirement Study (HRS), including
 oversight by the Data Monitoring Committee;
 • A longitudinal panel data set on consumption and time use of the U.S. population over
 age 50 in the HRS, known as the Consumption and Activities Mail Survey (CAMS);
 • The further development and dissemination of the RAND-HRS longitudinal data file;
 • The maintenance of longitudinal imputations/recodes of wealth measures that is part of
 the RAND-HRS data file;
 • Consent for linkage;
 • The maintenance of an integrated Social Security earnings and benefits file;
 • The maintenance of weights to correct for potential bias in selected sub-samples of HRS
 respondents from missing linked administrative data; and,
 • The interviewing cost of the increased sample of minority households in their pre-
 retirement ages.
