NWSO Core Summary/Abstract Information Technology (IT) governance provides a structure aligning IT with organizational strategy. A formal IT framework supports the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) in achieving measurable results as well as organizational strategies and goals. This governance structure integrates the needs of RMLs, NNLM Offices and Centers, and stakeholder interests. The NNLM Web Services Office (NWSO) ensures IT functions support NNLM organizational strategies and objectives. The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is eager to serve as NWSO, working with RMLs and NNLM Offices and Centers, and incorporating network member feedback. The UMB NWSO Team supports innovation, accountability, and principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in its management of NNLM user-centric systems. Through engagement and collaboration, the UMB NWSO Team integrates web services, maximizes network member engagement, supports funded projects’ life cycles, provides education addressing the needs of a diverse workforce, and applying systems for managing collaborative programs.
