RTI International currently performs cigarette production and storage operations in support of NIDA contracts on its main campus. In order to perform these tasks, RTI has constructed a dedicated freezer facility with 2,000 sq. ft. of floor space specifically for the storage of current and future stocks of NRC. This facility is located alongside RTI’s Hermann Building, where the laboratories and shipping facilities for NRC stocks are located, and in close proximity to RTI’s drug vault. This dedicated freezer facility is immediately adjacent to a 1,400 sq. ft. cigarette management area in the Hermann Building that is used in conjunction with the freezer facility for handling the NRC inventory. The freezer facility will provide additional freezer storage capability to support current NRC stocks and future NRC manufacturing efforts and will benefit from the enhanced security and maintenance access afforded by its location on RTI’s main campus. The freezer facility is exclusively used to house cigarettes for the subject contract. The budget for Task Order contains only the depreciation cost for the dedicated freezer facility for the indicated period of performance. The estimated service life of the freezer facility is 15 years as recommended by the manufacturer. Depreciation costs will continue to be included in any task orders or follow-on contracts awarded to RTI, assuming NIDA continues to use the freezer space.
