Abstract

ABSTRACT – ADMINISTRATIVE CORE The Administrative Core will provide organizational and administrative support to facilitate all tasks that interface with the four labs leading the research projects and the scientific core. The administrative core will include Dr. Theodora Hatziioannou as Core Leader, the Administrative Assistant and a Research Scientist in her joint lab with Dr Paul Bieniasz (Project 2), and administrative assistants in the labs of Drs Michel Nussenzweig and Marina Caskey (Project 1), Dr Pamela Bjorkman (Project 3), and Drs Charlie Rice and Peggy MacDonald (Scientific Core). The Administrative Core will 1) organize the overall project and 2) coordinate the interactions within the labs and 3) coordinate interaction with outside collaborators and the broader scientific community. This includes arranging formal communications among investigators, preparing protocol submissions and annual renewals to the Institutional Review Boards, coordinating material transfer agreements, preparing reports and manuscripts, monitoring budgets, planning annual meetings and monthly conference calls, and generally overseeing the scientific and administrative needs of the Program Project. In addition, the Administrative Core staff will assist in the effective sharing of data by maintaining shared web-based files.
