OTHER PROJECT INFORMATION – Project Summary/Abstract Translating the Lessons of the Oregon Health Insurance Experiment This proposed supplement would support the production of a book on the Ohio Health Insurance Experiment (OHIE). The goal of the book is to translate the results and lessons from our work on the OHIE and to use the OHIE to train the pipeline of researchers and other stakeholders studying how to improve the health of the elderly. The primary audience for this volume would be students in MPH and MPP programs, as well as advanced undergraduates. The book (and accompanying teaching materials) would be pitched to be broadly accessible and appealing across an array of academic programs and universities. It would build skills and capacity by producing accessible materials that synthesize the results of this body of work in one place and by discussing how to interpret findings and translate them to other contexts. The volume would provide students with hands- on learning experiences to deepen their understanding of how to produce rigorous empirical evidence.
