Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY The EpiBioS4Rx program requires long term storage, archival, and distribution of biological samples. These activities have been deemed to be beyond the capacity of our center to perform at a professional level, with necessary quality assurances and fail-safes of sample storage. Thus, we sought a professional resource for this, namely BioSEND. BioSEND is the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) biomarker repository, which houses biospecimens collected as part of biomarker studies supported by the NINDS. BioSEND will complete all biorepository needs for this study and supply kits, supplemental kits, transportation, plasma receipt and processing, buffy coat intake, extraction and quality control, and hemoglobin quality control. This will be set up as fee for service and we will monitor all services in conjunction with UCLA.
