# Development of Multidimensional, Linear and Differential Ion Mobility MS Separations for Middle-Down Proteoforms

> **NIH NIH R01** · FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY · 2021 · $126,472

## Abstract

Project Summary PI: Francisco Fernandez-Lima
This equipment supplement application requests funds to purchase a LEAP HDX Base System,
and corresponding HDExaminer Data Analysis Software to support instrumental advances in
tandem ion mobility – mass spectrometry (IMS/IMS-MS/MS) with the goal of providing needed
complementary structural information to the middle-down and top-down strategies developed for
the structural characterization of DNA binding proteins and ligand interaction dynamics under
the aims of the PI’s NIGMS active grant R01-GM134247. This equipment supplement request
will also streamline the application of solution HDX technology in tandem with unique middle-
down and top-down IMS- MS strategies for several active-funded NIGMS investigators at FIU
via the Advance Mass Spectrometry Facility, directed by the PI.
