> **NIH NIH R01** · UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA · 2021 · $6,644

## Abstract

Abstract
We are submitting an administrative supplement request to support an undergraduate student Julie
Nguyen to conduct summer research within the scope of the original project. Ms Nguyen is currently a third year
undergraduate student at UGA majored in pharmaceutical science, and this moment is the prime time for her to
engage in laboratory research experiences. Ms Nguyen has a demonstrated interest in and desire to pursue
research in health-related sciences, especially drug discovery and pharmaceutical science. The PI’s R01 project
regarding the mechanism and inhibition of protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) offers an ideal platform
for the student to participate in the research area well aligned with her science passion. The supplement support
will impact on and add a positive value to the undergraduate’s career development experience.
