Abstract

MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES Submission in Response to the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for PAR-21-174 April 5, 2021 Revision 1.0 Project Summary The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR), in partnership with the FDA, and through funding provided under PAR-16-137, has identified and implemented program infrastructure and services to support a robust and scalable produce safety program in Massachusetts. The Produce Safety Inspection Program (PSIP) has been designed to provide education, technical support, and inspectional services to further enhance an understanding and compliance with the Produce Safety Rule (FSMA, CFR 21 Part 112) in Massachusetts. The proposed project will build upon this foundation to expand and enhance the program area in support of a nationally integrated food safety system for produce through the deployment of key milestones and objectives identified in PAR-21-174 requirements.
