Abstract

The NCI COVID-19 in Cancer Patients Study (NCCAPS) is designed to understand both the short- and long-term outcomes of both SARS-CoV-2 infection and cancer. Importantly, this study will also include banking of blood specimens and radiologic images. This will enable a more detailed exploration of disease pathology and has the potential to contribute to better understanding of the immunological impacts of infection in cancer patients. The NCCAPS project will involve large numbers of biospecimens and data sets obtained from multiple institutions, including reports of laboratory assessments made on patient biospecimens. The Contractor will provide centralized support and overall project management to facilitate coordination between the collaborating laboratories and the NCCAPS central biorepository (Biorepository). The Contractor coordinates the collection of data from multiple laboratories, institutions, or clinical sites, serve as a central data repository for the laboratory data and provide the necessary data management support and project coordination. Systems shall be designed and maintained for the management of study data, including data collection, quality-control checking, and routine statistical analysis. These systems shall be expanded and updated on a regular basis as needed throughout the project
