## Abstract

ABSTRACT
The UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) has a long history of excellence in program
evaluation and quality improvement. Since its first round of funding in 2006, UCSF CTSI has been a national
leader in transforming the clinical and translational research community through the development,
demonstration, and dissemination of innovative tools and resources. In this proposal, we aim to expand efforts
to address the need for more standardized and streamlined interactions between UCSF CTSI, CLIC, national
CTSA hubs, and NCATS through the development of an “NCATS QA/QC administrative liaison” position
focused on the following three specific aims. Aim 1: To manage and improve the quality of UCSF CTSI-
related administrative submissions to NCATS. Aim 2: To participate in CTSA consortium-wide QA/QC
activities and propose innovations through creating an intermural infrastructure and sharing of best
practices. Aim 3: To strengthen UCSF CTSI's evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts.
We envision the NCATS QA/QC administrative liaison position successfully achieving the above three aims
over the course of our five-year parent award and enabling the realization of UCSF CTSI's UL1 aims. This
position will fill a critical need for UCSF CTSI and for the larger CTSA consortium, advancing the development,
demonstration, and dissemination of high-impact QA/QC innovations that ensure effective and efficient
administrative partnership between NCATS and the CTSA hubs.
