Abstract

Project Summary/Abstract – Administrative Core The Administrative Core for the proposed BCC will ensure the smooth functioning of all laboratories, interactions between the four research laboratories (MGH, Yale, UHN, Sheba) and the assay laboratory (Fulgent Genetics), between the BCC the NCI Early Detection Research Network (EDRN) and its Steering Committee, and between the BCC and other EDRN sites, including other BCCs, CVCs, and the DMCC. The need for an Administrative Core is due to the complexity of the BCC, especially having two foreign laboratories as collaborators, and the complex structure of the EDRN, which in previous iterations of the grant cycle involved between 20 – 30 sites. The Administrative Core will oversee all organizational aspects of the BCC including budgets, invoices, regular BCC internal meetings, presentations and attendance at EDRN SC meetings, scheduling NCI site visits, presentations at scientific meetings, and interactions with other EDRN sites, including tracking of collaborative projects which are established upon a proposal to the EC and approval and use the “set aside” funds. A web- accessible calendar with access for all co-investigators will be established and actively maintained by the Administrative Core for the BCC.
