# Improving Self-Management and Physical Activity in Teens

## Abstract

This project addresses a key public health issue: the prevention of health disparities in cardiovascular disease 
and diabetes-related morbidity and mortality in adolescents with type 1 diabetes and socioeconomic 
disadvantage. We will test a scalable technology-delivered behavior change skills training and physical activity 
promotion intervention to improve adolescents’ self-regulation and cardiovascular health. What we learn from 
this work is expected to ultimately impact the psychological and physical health of in adolescents with type 1 
diabetes and socioeconomic disadvantage across the lifespan.
