> **NIH NIH N02** · UNIV OF NORTH CAROLINA CHAPEL HILL · 2021 · $920,458

## Abstract

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) High-throughput Sequencing Facility and Integrated Genomics Core (HTSF and IGC) will extend its role as a Genome Characterization Center (GCC) for analysis of cancer-related samples to the Office of Cancer Clinical Proteomics Research (OCCPR) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The GCC team has all the capabilities—total RNAseq, transcriptome (mRNAseq), and miRNAseq—required for this project. We have established criterion and standard operating procedures (SOP) for intake of samples from BCRs; rigorous QAQC protocols; advanced methods, automation, and technology for comprehensive total RNA, mRNA, and miRNA sequencing; cutting-edge bioinformatic assessment; and extensive experience working with NCI data repositories. UNC is well poised to investigate, evaluate, and implement new genomic technology as it emerges. Finally, we have an extensive track record of more than 15 years of performing transcriptional characterization of cancer related samples.
