Abstract

The Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) Program is NHLBI’s leading program to accelerate -omics based precision medicine research by developing state-of-science data resources and analytical tools to enable investigators to conduct innovative research and achieve breakthroughs in heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS) disorders that continue to remain intractable despite decades of investments. The TOPMed program is designed to complement the activities of the NIH Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI). The TOPMed program is capitalizing on NHLBI's past investments in diverse clinical research cohorts and studies to establish a platform on which the data from clinical and environmental measurements, genetics (whole genome sequencing (WGS)), and functional genomics (transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) will be integrated for systems biology study of HLBS disorders. The objective of the TOPMed DCC contract program is to provide administrative, data management, analysis, and dissemination support for the TOPMed program.
