We are building a small, easy-to-use point of care device to simultaneously detect both viral RNA (current infection) and IgG antibody (past infection) markers from saliva. The test is fast, with results provided in <15 minutes, and works with a smartphone for broad access and rapid scalability. The hardware is easily portable for point of care use, and could be used for public health, for companies to keep employees safe, or by individual users at home. Disposable microfluidic cartridges contain all reagents and handle all sample processing. The platform leverages proprietary nucleic acid chemistry originally developed at Stanford University.
