Abstract

The International Society for Experimental Hematology (ISEH) will be holding its 51st Annual Scientific Meeting September 1- 4, 2022 at the Edinburgh International Convention Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Through this request, ISEH is seeking support for young investigator attendance and participation in the ISEH 2022 Scientific Meeting. The ISEH annual meeting continues to be a one-of-a-kind venue offering top science from around the world and unique networking opportunities for scientists at every career stage. ISEH has a strong history of engaging trainees and young investigators in both the society and the annual scientific meeting, and we plan to continue to innovate on this tradition in 2022. Our New Investigators Committee and our newly created Junior PI Committee continue to guide the development of activities targeted to junior (new) investigators. ISEH will host activities specifically geared towards junior investigators at our meeting in 2022, including a pre-meeting workshop, career development sessions for PhD and Postdocs and another for Junior Faculty, technology session, meet-the-experts mixer, Junior Faculty grant writing workshop, featured poster presentations and oral presentations. ISEH also provides opportunities for young investigators and students who have submitted strong research to apply for travel grants, which provide support for individuals who may have less funding available to attend such a meeting. These travel grants and sessions are integral to ISEH’s meeting. In addition to the young investigator focused sessions, the Scientific Program Committee takes pride in developing an outstanding lineup of speakers for all meeting attendees on topics such as tracking hematopoiesis, developmental hematopoiesis, epigenetic regulation, understanding fate decisions, and HSC biology. ISEH meetings feature some of the best unpublished research from around the world, including talks from invited speakers as well as oral and poster presentations.
