Abstract

Summary Our current NIH-funded project (GM061146) aims to establish the molecular framework of RNA NAD+ capping/decapping. In our studies, we routinely perform reporter gene assays to study how the RNA NAD+ cap affects RNA stability and translation. These experiments require the use of a plate reader that measures fluorescence and luminescence. We have been using a plate reader in the Genomics Core facility, but it is extremely outdated with unstable connections to the computer. Replacement parts cannot be obtained as the model has become obsolete. We request funds for the purchase of a SpectraMax iD5 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader. The plate reader is essential for our NIH-funded research.
