## Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY
Brain cerebral developments are fundamental and impactful bio-behaviors under spatial
constraints. Understanding their biophysical process and molecular mechanisms can be
benefited using the emergent organoids and other 3D tissue models. We aim to
characterize the morphomics of the complex cell organizations in these 3D tissue
models through advanced imaging tools.
This proposed equipment is a high-content, confocal, live imaging system, providing a
technological leap in our current organoid analysis. The technological leap through this
equipment will enable three major enhancements. 1) 3D deep imaging allows tracing
tissue morphology and differentiation patterns. 2) Confocal live imaging can capture the
dynamic translocation of individual cells, providing experimental data for time-
dependent theoretical modeling. 3) High-content imaging makes it possible to scale up
the experiments. In summary, this imaging system will help our current study seize new
research opportunities and support the development of novel scientific ideas in the
morphomic study of brain organoids.
