# Development of Spatial Transcriptomics Capability

> **NIH NIH P20** · UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA MEDICAL CENTER · 2022 · $250,000

## Abstract

The goals of the Nebraska Center for Molecular Target Discovery and Development (CMTDD) are to (1)
provide the means necessary to define, validate, and develop potential therapies against disease targets, and
(2) facilitate the professional and scientific development of early-stage investigators. Consistent with the scope
of the CMTDD mission, the aim of this supplemental request is to purchase a MERSCOPE (Vizgen, Inc.) and
provide spatial transcriptomics capability to early-stage investigators of the Nebraska Center for Molecular
Target Discovery and Development (CMTDD) and other COBREs in the University system. MERSCOPE will
be a cornerstone of the CMTDD omics resource, which will lower the cost barrier for investigators whose
research papers and grant applications would benefit from the generation and analysis of complex data sets.
