# HTORR A&R COLD STORAGE ADMINSTRATIVE SUPPLEMENT APPLICATION

> **NIH NIH U42** · NATIONAL DISEASE RESEARCH INTERCHANGE · 2022 · $101,910

## Abstract

Project Summary:
The Human Tissue and Organ Research Resource (HTORR) is a division of the National Disease Research
Interchange (NDRI), a not-for-profit NIH-funded organization whose mission is to provide the biomedical
research community with human tissues for research. The research demand for human tissues continues to
grow and the HTORR program provides a unique service to investigators that require human tissues, organs
and well annotated data for their research. The requirements for human biospecimens continue to evolve in
tandem with complexity of scientific questions and experimental methodologies that investigators desire to
pursue. To meet this need, HTORR utilizes a diverse network of tissue source sites (TSS) to provide investigators
with a broad range of normal and diseased human biospecimens for their studies. The overall objective of this
Alterations and Renovations (A&R) Administrative Supplement proposal is to enhance and expand the cold
storage capabilities of HTORR by obtaining new equipment for HTORR TSS and the biorepository. The
proposed expansion of HTORR cold storage capabilities will help ensure uninterrupted service of high quality,
well annotated normal and diseased human biospecimens to investigators for their research.
