West Virginia Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standard Compliance and Enforcement Expansion: Project Summary The primary purpose of West Virginia Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standard Compliance and Enforcement Expansion project is to ensure that the WV DHHR, Bureau of Public Health, Office of Environmental Services, Public Health Sanitation Division’s Manufactured Food Program is adequately staffed to continue to meet program standards and enhance compliance and enforcement capacities. On July 1, 2022, WV §64 CSR 43 Food Manufacturing Facilities will be effective and adopt 21 CFR 117 Process Controls and Good Manufacturing Practices for Human and Animal Foods by reference. The update to the state rule will result in changes to inspection methods, time utilization, compliance and enforcement expectations, and reporting methods. The result will be a stronger program that will utilize more laboratory evidence to back compliance and enforcement actions.
