Abstract

Project Summary The MACH Team, led by RTI International, offers implementation excellence paired with deep expertise in technology innovation and scientific research to support the NHLBI’s overall research mission by maximizing the value of data in the NHLBI BDC. The BDC is advancing HLBS research by applying data science tools and techniques to NHLBI data. To ensure that harmonized, scientifically valuable, well-documented data assets of excellent quality can be made available for discovery and secondary analysis, NHLBI requires a team to partner with BDC’s DGs to grow the types and volume of data accessible via the Ecosystem. The DGs are essential partners in NHLBI’s larger vision to leverage existing data investments, democratize access to data and compute resources, attract underrepresented researchers and support their research interests, and ultimately enable novel scientific discoveries that promote prevention and treatment of HLBS diseases. Data are a central focus; however, it is building trusting, reciprocal relationships between people that will ensure success. The central challenge of the DMC is to enable and scale productive data sharing partnerships that advance HLBS research
